Shouldn't be too hard to figure out what compression scheme it uses. The title screen is indeed compressed, but so are a lot of graphics assets for the intro and title screen parts (the font for the intro subtitling routine is stored on the system card though.
CASTLEVANIA RONDO OF BLOOD PC ENGINE ISO CODE
It was probably a left over font for debug code or such.
CASTLEVANIA RONDO OF BLOOD PC ENGINE ISO FULL
It's not a full font (only ~36 titles) but it could be used to store 8x8 2bit font tiles or even 1bit tiles aka a full custom font. First off, there's an unused 8x8 4bit font that's never used. I found some interesting things while poking around in the debugger. That is to say, the title screen part isn't a separate CD load. The intro and the title screen are a single 256k chunk. So, I'm mildly interested in helping out with the title screen.

I figured it'd be best to post on this thread instead of the news page thread. If you, for whatever reason, do not like this you can easily swap back the original narration (Track03) after it is done patching.

It also replaces the old German narrator with the new narration that was in the PSP and VC release of the game. However miscellaneous grunts will retain their original Japanese.

CASTLEVANIA RONDO OF BLOOD PC ENGINE ISO PATCH
To make clear, this patch will translate the TurboGrafx-CD version of Castlevania: Rondo of Blood into English. Hello and welcome to the Castlevania: Rondo of Blood English Translation Patch (PSP to TurboGrafx-CD).Īfter many years of leaving this project abandoned I can happily say that this patch has reached it's much needed 100% status! However the credits have not made it into this release of the patch (if ever) so in order to compensate for this inconvenience we have included the translation for the credits in the readme. I'll have to check when the work first started but I thinkit was mid 2004.I was only planning ontranslating the intro.I picked DraculaX because the intro is in German.Thatway I wouldn't have to track down a translator.I started with just a hex editor but soon each edit became a chore.I then started to use a patcher I had usedfor writing PC game cracks. Not in theleast the right tool for the job but it was certainly familiar.Castlevania: Rondo of Blood English Translation Patch Special notes from team members are listed here about their history in the project. Made the ASCII Logo that you see in the Patcher. Also made theincluded TurboRip program, please see the readme that's alongsideTurboRip for more information. Madethe FileBySize.exe that helped stabilize the patcher. Made the TurboGrafx-16 ADPCM Codec that was used when inserting the English ADPCM. Made the new English graphics for the signs. Made the “Castlevania: Oops, Wrong Game!!!” title screen.ĭid the translation for the ferryman, signs, and the error message billboard in StageX. Made the graphic for the new title screen and made the logothat you see at the top of this readme.

He was the savinggrace when all of our team members hit the wall, so please everyone give a biground of applause to Tom! It's very important to note thatthis finished version of the patch would not have been possible without Tom. Worked on hacking in the new titlescreen, hacked in the new English “Castlevania: Oops, Wrong Game!!!” titlescreen, added a new print routine for the opening subtitle system, hacked in the textin signs and added a new text routinefor the ferry man. Worked on some early translation and texthacking in 2004 – 2005 currently at the time of writing he’s trying totranslate the games packaging. Also made some minorchanges to the Patcher, such as the OGG conversion. I worked on engineeringthe PSP dub into the voiced cutscenes in the TurboGrafx-CD version along withhacking in new English title cards for the stage names. (The guy who wrote this readme) I started this project backup in early 2011 and directed the project from 2011 onward. Was the Director of the project back in 2004 - 2006 and workedon all text/audio hacking that was done during that point.
